The Hermanus Photographic Society once again took part in First Fridays Art Walk on Friday 6 March and alongside exhibits from club members, there was a guest exhibitor Elizabeth Cook of 4th Dimension PhotoArt and a member of the Creative Camera Club in Cape Town.
Elizabeth’s work is certainly striking and thought provoking and attracted a great deal of attention from visitors. Her 4th Dimension exhibits were a result of entering two photos in the Abstract division of the Africa Awards Photographic Competition and one of them entitled ”Dooooown” won. This then expanded into a body of similar works under the title 4th Dimension and this was the focus of her exhibition at FFAW.
On Wednesday 19 March 2020 at 7pm at the Dutch Reformed Church the club will hold the second of “Camera Basics Appreciation Classes” to bring to members of the public information classes on how to operate all types of cameras being used by members of the club and in addition a camera workshop will be available to explain the hidden techniques of their own camera and adjust the settings accordingly. This month the main topic will be “cell phone photography”.
The first session on 19 February was a great success so members of the public are again invited to join us. Further details of the classes can be found on the club’s website.
