From the start, a close-up image of a cheetah lapping up water was a clear favourite of visitors at this year’s FynArts exhibition. The image ‘Intimate drink’ by Luke Horsten received 34 votes. In second place was another nature image ‘The buffalo and the bird’ by Judes Armstrong with a score of 31 closely followed by a portrait ‘Reminiscing’ by Fielies de Kock with 30 likes.
The club’s exhibition aptly titled Pixels and Perspectives was held from 7 to 17 June 2024 at the Herman Swart Hall in the Hermanus Dutch Reformed Church. The showcase featured 41 images from 13 club members. The printing was done by Lawrance Brennon, while Zelda Calitz from Frames4Africa did the mounting. The Hermies Photo Club had 15 of their images on display. Throughout the 10-day event, over 500 individuals attended, and 188 (38%) of them voted for their top three favourite images. This exhibition serves as a fantastic platform to highlight the club’s talent and that of the learners at Hermanus High School. More images will be exhibited at the Municipal Auditorium at the Kalfiefees in August 2024.
